Christmas greetings

It’s Christmas again – time to reflect and think ahead. We tend to look at the bigger picture, beyond our day-to-day work which has been inspired by wonderful people and projects. But it is the larger context in which we live and operate that concerns us. Looking back at my previous Christmas letters I wished for “living in interesting times” – this certainly became true though maybe a bit too “interesting.” And as daily news come in, the weirdness has almost become the ordinary for many of us.

Welcoming Medimpact as a new partner of the Center’s 2018 Forum in Paris / research raffle continues

We are excited to welcome Medimpact, a leading pharmacy benefit manager in the United States, as a new partner of our 7th Forum “Strategy in times of change” on September 12-14, 2018 at the Columbia University Global Center in Paris.

Our research raffle continues – thanks to everybody who has already participated. We are conducting this study in collaboration with Sherry Glied, Professor and Dean at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Policy, to get a better understanding of people’s loyalty to professionals, such as doctors, bankers, lawyers, hairstylists and the like who provide services to us. We all rely on them to different degrees, but relationships differ. Why is this the case? We are curious to learn from you how happy you are with your professional (randomly chosen) and invite you to answer a few questions by clicking on this link:

http://surveys.centerforhealthcaremanagement.org/professionals-loyalty

The survey will take less than 5 minutes of your time and we’ll raffle off a gift certificate for a haute couture haircut at the Rossanno Ferretti Hairspa in New York or Paris (value of USD 150/€ 150). If you attend the 7th Forum you might be able to finish off the business trip with a great cut!

If you would like to join Medimpact and others in becoming a partner of the next Forum please inquire regarding sponsoring opportunities at janus@centerforhealthcaremanagement.org. Attend the 7th Forum with your organization to identify new trends and incorporate them into future products and strategies necessary for success in a market of shifting US and EU priorities.

Space is limited and participation by invitation only. You may contact us directly at info@centerforhealthcaremanagement.org to apply for your personal registration at € 795 until January 8, 2018.

More on the 7th Forum follows soon – stay tuned @HCMatColumbia!

A great week with US delegates in Berlin

We were proud to be the thought leader and organize the educational program for the TPG mission to Germany that brought more than thirty healthcare executives from leading health plans to Berlin. This was the 10th anniversary of a trip for which I organized the line-up of speakers already ten years ago. Happy to see familiar faces of a few delegates who came for the second time to learn what has changed and in what way our system remains the same: values such as solidarity, free choice, and equal access to services continue to be the pillars of a high performing healthcare system.
